At Chesswood Junior School, we aim to develop our children as writers through a well-designed coherent and progressive journey of writing experiences.  Purpose and audience are central to effective writing and children will be given meaningful reasons to write through which they can communicate their ideas and emotions to others. Alongside this, grammar and spelling will be both explicitly taught and woven into the writing units to provide opportunities to apply their learning.
