Happy Friday Year 3!  The last day of the week.  Thank you so much for all of your attempts at the Science quiz yesterday - you have really impressed us with your knowledge!  There isn't an assessment task today, but there is an Art task for you try.  Plus Fridays is one of the days that Joe Wicks is doing a live workout, so maybe you want to try this after your Class Registration Teams call this morning.  You'll see we now have a grid beneath the timetable at the top of the page where we are placing each of the feedback videos.  Today there is an English feedback video based on your work sent in on Wednesday - we hope it helps you.  Good luck with your home learning today and have a great weekend :-).

Good morning Year 3.  We are over the halfway point for the week now - where has the time gone?  Thank you for your continued attendance at Teams calls - especially as we had 2 yesterday!  It's also been brilliant to see so many of you send in assessment work - we have had 3 pieces of work so far - Monday Maths, Tuesday DT and Wednesday English.  Remember we'll let you know on here what the assessment piece of work is each day and when feedback videos are available.  

Today's assessment work is Science.  After watching a helpful video and looking at your knowledge organiser there's a quiz to complete using the same website that you used for Monday's Maths assessment task.  Remember if you have any difficulties, please contact Mr Gilbert (ngilbert@chesswood.w-sussex.sch.uk).

Good morning Year 3!  We hope you had a fantastic day of home learning yesterday.  It was really pleasing to see your DT answers come in - you will get to see a feedback video for this next week at the start of your next DT lesson.  There are a few things for you to be aware of today:

1) Don't forget it's the class catch up Teams Call this morning - this is in addition the morning call.  The catch up call is at 10.15-10.45.

2) Today's assessment task is English.  Watch Mrs Lucas' helpful video to support you, then send in a photo of your work when you have finished.  We'll then put together a video talking through the work ready for Friday.

3) Today is the very first live PE lesson with Mr Quick and Mr Haggart - check your Teams invites!  They are live from 10.55-11.30 this morning.  Good luck!

Good morning Year 3!  We hope you had a fantastic day of home learning yesterday.  All of your teachers were so happy to firstly see so many of you join in for the morning Teams call and secondly, see so many of you attempt the Maths assessment quiz.  What a hugely promising start to the week, very well done!

Today, you'll notice the Maths is back to activity sheets as today's Maths is not an assessed piece.  Today, for wider curriculum subjects you have a DT task.  Part of today's DT is your assessed task for today.  To help you with this, we have a video which talks you through today's DT, including how to attempt the assessed task.  After the assessed piece, there is also a design challenge for you to try.  You should send a photo of your assessment piece of work to your teacher - we'll then use these to put together a video for you for the start of next week's DT.

Good morning Year 3!  It's the start of a new week.  We all hope you had a fantastic weekend.  There a few changes starting today with the home learning which are going to make things better moving forward.  You may well have received a letter about this already, but here are the key changes:

Firstly, on the website and on the daily plans, you will now see fewer wider curriculum tasks each day.  There will still be the same amount of tasks across the whole week, but we are putting them on selected days.  If you want to find tasks from earlier in the week, you'll still be able to find them by scrolling down to the correct day.

Secondly, we are introducing assessment tasks from this week.  There will be a different assessment task on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  We will explain to you on the daily learning plan each day how to complete the assessment task.  Your first assessment task is for Maths.  This means for today, rather than writing your answers on the White Rose worksheets, or in a book/on paper at home, you will complete your work using Microsoft Forms.  You have already done quizzes like this in school.  When you click submit, you're work will come through to your teacher in school.  We will then put together a video which looks at what we did well as a year group and what could be better - you'll be able to see this video on Wednesday.  We'll tell you all about it when it's ready.

Lastly, very exciting news!  As well as our weekly Teams catch-up calls on Wednesday at 10.15am, we will now be having daily Teams calls at 8.45-9.00am.  You will receive an invitation from your teacher in time for the meeting.  During this time, your teacher will take a register and introduce the day to you, they'll also remind you about any assessment work for that day.

Phew!  There's a lot of information there.  Just try to do your best children, we'll help you if you have any problems - have a great day.

* Maths assessment - Do not worry if the maths assessment has marked your answer incorrect for using the £ sign. You are right to do this, so WELL DONE to you! The form has been updated so it should be working correctly now. All answers are checked by teachers, so we will know that your answer is correct. *

Good morning children!  Today is a very exciting day - it's the class catch-up Teams calls at 10.15!  I bet you can't wait to meet with the rest of your class!  Please remember to keep your mic on mute unless your teacher is talking to you so that it's easier for everyone to hear the person who is speaking.  Remember to check out the code of conduct if you haven't yet and read the key writing in red below - you can view this by clicking the image below.

 - When your teacher invites you to a session it will appear in the relevant channel on Teams. Try to make sure that you are in a quiet, shared, comfortable environment, free from distractions for your session. Please avoid being in your bedrooms unless supervised by an adult. 

 -  If you can’t make the “live” session, then try let us know before the session begins.  

 - Just like in the classroom, we ask you not to talk at the same time as the teacher. So, keep your microphone on mute unless you want to ask a question or say something in which case hold up your hand just like you would in school. When you have got permission to speak, say what you want to say, and then mute your microphone again. 

 -  Keep your camera on (if you can) because we would like to see your lovely faces and create a virtual classroom. 

 - You must not record or take photos of teachers or students during video conferencing sessions, and you must not share lessons publicly. Remember our online safety rules – no sharing of personal information.

 - We must all follow these rules to keep you safe and to make sure things run smoothly. Just like in school, always remember the Chesswood Bright Sparks Code – show courtesy, care and kindness at all times.

Good morning Year 3!  I can't believe it's Thursday today, where has that time gone?  Today you'll notice a few differences about the home learning.  Firstly, with English, you'll see we have 2 videos for you to watch.  These feature Miss Howard talking you through the Nasty Writing and then the main English task.  These are for all of the children in Year 3 and not just children in 3HG.  If you click the picture that says YouTube, the video will load in a new window, whereas if you click Play beneath the writing, the video will play on this page.

You'll also notice for Maths that there are extra fluency questions.  These questions will be uploaded for the next few days.  We are making these available to you just in case you need some extra practice on division questions.

Lastly, Music.  Mrs Cossins has come up with some fun Rock and Roll tasks for you using Garageband.  Don't panic if you don't have access to Garageband, you can also look at the Rock and Roll knowledge organiser and try to remember at least 1 extra fact per day.

Good morning Year 3!  We hope you had a lovely weekend.  You'll see we have lots of new learning for you to try today.  The Wider Curriculum subjects will stay on for the whole week - you aren't expected to do it all today.  You may want to a bit of each but spread across the week, or you may want to just pick one a day.  If you're doing this, why not try the RE first?

We've loved receiving updates about your work - this week your teachers will start to update the Year 3 class pages.  These will be updated once per day and you'll be able to see a maximum of 3 pieces of work from your class.  Don't panic if you don't see any changes in the morning - it probably just means your teacher is updating the page later on that day.  Please remember that Mr Barnard and Miss Bagnall are teaching today - they would still love to receive your work, but if you're in their classes and having difficulties, you should contact Mr Gilbert so that he can try to get the problem sorted as soon as possible!

Good Morning All and we hope you're all well,

A few tips to get you started.

If you've got one of our Pink Homework Books please do all of your work in there - we will have some of these available to be picked up from the School Office if you haven't got one or a similar book that you can use.

For the Maths either open up or print out the resources you'll need (Starter Boards and daily questions) and then start by watching and working through the White Rose video and then move onto the questions.

For the English either open up or print out the resources you will need (Nasty Writing sheet, Writing learning slides, Video link and Writing frame) and start by working through the lesson slides, then using the other resources when you need to. 

For Reading, you can either watch Mr Harney read to you, or read the book for yourself (or both)!  There are then some tasks for you to try - have a look at what you need to do before you watch the video or read the book, so you know what to listen/look out for!
