Year 2 - 3 Normal age of transfer |
West Sussex local authority confirm Year 3 admission with parents in the middle of April annually. Chesswood Junior School will then contact parents by the end of April to confirm the next steps in finalising the admission to Chesswood Junior School. A vital part of that is the completion of this admission form - this must be completed by Friday May 22nd 5:00p.m. If this form is not completed by that date your child will not be included in the class building process and we can no longer guarantee they would be placed with any one of their nominated friends. We will guarantee that every child will be placed with at least one friend from their list of three, with any completed form submitted prior to that date. That guarantee is removed after that date. |
Admissions outside of normal age of transfer |
We enrol children into Chesswood Junior School at all times during the year and into all year groups, subject to there being sufficient space. Once a parent has received confirmation from West Sussex local authority they have 10 working days to complete the admissions form below before the offer of the school place is removed and is again open to other families. Typically, children are able to start at Chesswood within 3-5 days of the submission of the admission form below. This may be extended if there are exceptional complicating factors e.g. severe and complex special educational needs that would require additional staff recruitment. We will always work closely with families in such a situation and minimise the delay to starting as far as reasonably possible. |
Admissions outside of normal age of transfer |
In rare and exceptional circumstances, with the head teacher's agreement children may be admitted to Chesswood without official receipt from West Sussex local authority. However, the completion of Chesswood Junior School admission form is essential before a child may start. Again, this may be extended if there are exceptional complicating factors that would require additional staff recruitment. We will always work closely with families in such a situation and minimise the delay to starting as far as reasonably possible. |
