DAILY GUIDANCE FROM YOUR TEACHERS
Good Monday morning year 4,
Welcome to another week of learning! It was great to see so many of you in the morning teams meetings although there were a few technical problems as the school server was being a bit tricky this morning. Hopefully tomorrow will go a little smoother and we will soon all be experts at this new technology. Remember that now we are having the morning teams meetings, the class pages will not be updated everyday and instead we will have a weekly celebration assembly to share our weekly achievements. This will be during an extended Thursday meeting. The two tasks we would like you to send in for your teachers to look at his week are the English plan on Wednesday and the maths assessment on Friday. You will be getting a whole class feedback video on this every week.
Today the maths is comparing the area of rectilinear shapes (those with straight sides and right angles). English is to explore the structure of a non chronological text in preparation for writing your own about Viking warriors. In the afternoon you will be thinking about how the Vikings attacked and invaded Britain and why it was so successful. Finish off with some art, looking at the work of Miro and Kandinsky and having a go yourself. I have been to the Miro exhibition in Barcelona and it was truly inspiring.

Good morning home learners!
Welcome to Wednesday. So today you are going to continue with written multiplication method. It might help you to look back at what you did yesterday and remind yourself how the method worked before starting. After that, you will be looking at direct speech punctuation again in Nasty writing and then you will be writing about the problem the dragon is causing to the people of the town in your legend. You can put some dialogue in here so we find out a bit more about the characters through it. More spelling rehearsal will be followed by some reading tasks - it doesn't matter which order you do them in One girl in my class did half the comprehension one day and finished it the next which is fine too.
After lunch, you have some PSHE where you can take some time to help you manage any worries you might have about this difficult time we are having with Covid, find out about South East UK (which is where we live!) and using a fun coding program called Dance party.
When you have finished, email your teacher in the work you are most proud of.
