4JD - Hazel

friday 17th july

Good afternoon Hazel Class,

Today is your final day in Year 4! This has been an incredibly strange, challenging year for us all, but I am proud of what we have achieved together. I think that Mr Light is a very lucky man to be able to teach you next year!

As you are all writing your tapestries of learning, I thought that I would make my own (see: below). I haven’t filled out my achievements grid, but I would be a solid blue for enjoyment for each and every subject.

Have a great summer and try to go on IXL and read if you can – this well help a lot in Year 5!

Best wishes,

Mr D

Thursday 16th july

Bonjour la classe de 4JD,

Madame Button here with you on your penultimate day of Year 4. How are you today?

Since I last wrote a message to you, I have once again been following the class pages. I liked the messages written for you by Ming Jie, Harry and Freddie, when they returned to school in their bubbles. I've also enjoyed Mr. Davis' 'pupdates'! Isn't Billy adorable?

I guess that you have been competing in the Sussex Virtual Games, and I see that, on Tuesday, there was a long list of children who had reached or were close to this term's reading target. Well done and keep going!

I've also followed your daily tasks and have tried to write a couple of farewell messages to you all, using my interpretation of this week's Alphabet soup art. Art and puzzles are a couple of my favourite things, so I enjoyed creating! However, I now realise they're a bit tricky- I hope you can decipher them!

I see that you have recently been writing your Tapestry of Learning, including reflections of being in 4JD. How have you got on? I think I'd have to say that my Wednesday memories mainly revolve around our interactive French lessons: building vocabulary through singing songs with actions, playing games and even creating drawn monsters! Do you remember that? I also remember your enthusiasm and creativity during English writing: for example; exploring similes and metaphors, through poetry writing, as well as description, involving the power of three, for your dragon legend. Your singing and performance at the Carol Concert was memorable too.

Are you still improving your language skills, both on Duolingo and IXL? I know how much you all like TTRS and I notice the coins you have already collected are being carried over to next term. Have any of you gained a new badge?

Looking ahead to September, I hear you are transferring to Mr Light's class in Year 5. I expect you're looking forward to new experiences and learning in his class, whilst being with your friends again?

What plans do you and your family have for the Summer break?

Whether you are home or away, take care, enjoy, refresh and let's hope the good weather continues, to enjoy the great outdoor spaces.

Au revoir- until I see you again,

Mrs B.
