5EV - May

Wednesday 1st April

Hello everyone, happy Wednesday and happy April Fools' Day! I hope you're all having lots of fun with your home learning, I'm enjoying looking at all the work you're sending in!

Today is also Top 10s! Have a look if you made it by clicking on the Top 10s section to the right. >>>>

Remember to check out some examples of the work that's been sent in by subject too!

You still get 50 HP for getting number 1, 30 for number 2, 20 for number 3 and 10 for all of the other positions.

Unfortunately, we only had a Top 9 for IXL English and Reading this week, so please make sure you are doing the daily tasks given to you at home!

We've also had a fantastic class message from Alex, look at how professional this looks! Amazing stuff, Alex gets 50 HP! Check it out below:

We've had a great picture of Dominic concentrating on his Duolingo as well:

Tuesday 31st march

Hi everyone! How are you? I hope you're keeping up with your home learning, thank you to everyone who has been emailing me with updates! I still haven't heard from some of you though, and I miss you, so please get in contact and let me know how you're getting on at home!

Today, Ruby sent me a picture of her in full concentration mode, and look at that amazingly organised timetable on the wall! Fantastic stuff!

Top 10s are tomorrow, and I can see some of you have been doing phenomenally with your IXL, reading and TTRockstars! However, we only have a Reading Top 7 at the moment - normally you smash your reading targets, so let's keep this up at home!

Reminder: your work is now being displayed by subject and you can look at the examples by clicking the links to the right. >>>>>

Monday 30th March

Hi 5EV! I hope you've had a relaxing weekend and are ready to get back to your fantastic home learning this week!

Thank you to everyone who has been emailing me, it's been great to hear from you all.

I can't wait to see the work you've been doing this week, but there is a slight change! Instead of uploading all the lovely work I've received from you, we will now be uploading the 5 best pieces to the website each day (it takes a very long time to upload all those pictures!). This means you should now email me the piece of work you're most proud of each day. I hope to hear from you soon!

Friday 27th march

Good morning 5EV! Today I'm teaching year 5 again - there's one pupil (shout out to Alex of 5AL)! It means I may not respond to you quite as quickly today but I promise I will respond, so keep the amazing work coming in!

Our class page has now got snazzier! Instead of posting all your wonderful work on this page, I'll post it by subject and you can find it by clicking the subject links, which are to the right. >>>>>>

I'll keep the excellent bits you've already uploaded below for now though, so you can still check those out too.

And of course, you'll still be showered with house points for doing so!

I've particularly loved the videos that some of you have sent in (shout out to Corey and Bea!), they should be uploaded tomorrow.

Today I was back in the classroom in the morning - check out the picture, this is the whole of year 5 at the moment! We have enjoyed our morning: we started with written methods, then wrote our scripts and made videos, then did our Maths challenge and directed each other round the playground for Geography! How has your morning been?

Tuesday 24th march

Hello 5EV! Today has been a particularly strange day for me as I'm no longer teaching in class! Most of you are busy learning at home, so there aren't many children in year 5 at school. I'm missing you all very much and am really keen to see all the work you have been producing! I haven't had many so far, so please send some more examples in. Scroll down below for details of how to do this (just email me!) and to see the amazing examples I've had in already!

Remember, there's loads of house points to be won! You can keep track of these in your home learning journal and they will all count!
Also, it's Top 10s tomorrow!

Monday 23rd march

Hi everyone, and welcome to 5EV's class page! I will be posting on here every weekday to keep you updated with some of the work we are doing here at school, and more importantly, I'd like you to update me with the work you are doing at home so I can celebrate it on here! You can email me a picture or video of what you've been doing to:

evarley@chesswood.w-sussex.sch.uk

There will be lots of house points available for sending in your work!

Remember: you can also email me with any questions you have about the work, and I should be able to respond every afternoon from 1.30 - 2.30 pm.

I'm looking for some top quality work, which I know you are all so good at producing! Don't forget to underline your date and your title, if you've given yourself one, and keep that handwriting looking excellent.

Since you are now responsible for your own learning, it would be a good idea to create a timetable of what you are doing each day so you stick to a good routine. This will make home learning feel more 'normal' to you! You can send me a picture of your timetable and I can post here as an example. Your first port of call is to complete your daily learning activities, but if you can't complete any of them, you could also complete a take away task. Just remember to keep me updated!
