5EV - May

Friday 17th July

It's hard to believe that today is the last day of Year 5 and that this will be the last message I post on here. It's a very bittersweet feeling as it's lovely that the summer holidays are so close but so sad that I won't be your teacher anymore! You truly are a fantastic class and I have enjoyed teaching you so much. Each and every person in the class made fantastic progress before lockdown and it was a real pleasure to get to know you and watch you learn. I really will miss you all! But we will see each other again around school in September (I'll be in Year 4, next to your old Year 4 class) and I know you'll all love Year 6! I want to give a massive congratulations to all of you for getting through the weirdest and most difficult school year we've ever had - you rose to the challenge of taking charge of your own learning at home and I couldn't be more proud!

And now a HUGE well done for our Top 3 home learning housepoint winners...

Please don't worry about sending me work in today but I would love to read any goodbye messages you want to send! Have an AMAZING summer and I will see you in September!

Thursday 16th July

Hi everyone! How is your home learning going today? You just have today and tomorrow and then it's the summer holidays! Remember that you need to email me your housepoints today to be in a chance with getting a 'Spark of the Year' certificate!

I'd also like to give Dominic a massive congratulations for becoming a reading millionaire! He gets 100 HP!

In total, we have a whopping 5 reading millionaires this year - WOW! We have:

Coey (2,716,677)

Nathan (1,170,111)

Dominic (1,163,196)

Lexi (1,160,216)

Elizabeth (1,063,979)

I'm blown away!

Wednesday 15th July

Good morning, 5EV! We're almost at the end of the year so it's time to collect up your house points (the ones that you've earnt at home)! Please email them to me today or tomorrow and Friday I will post who the Top 3 winners are (you will get a 'Spark of the Year' certificate to print out!). If you haven't kept track of them, you can give me your best guess based on how many home learning tasks you've managed to complete and how many I've given you through emails. I have to say, every single one of you could be a 'Spark of the Year' because you worked SO hard at school before 'lockdown' (and many of you continued this so amazingly at home!).

Today I'd also like to show Lexi's Milk Art experiment - it's very satisfying to watch! Did you manage to do this experiment this week? Check it out below and give it a go if you can!

Tuesday 14th July

Good afternoon, everyone! Just a quick message again as I'm in class teaching all week. I hope you're all enjoying your home learning! Watch this space because I will be uploading your Top 10s after school!

Top 10s are up, check out if you made it this week and a big well done if you did!

Monday 13th July

Hello, 5EV! It's the first day of our last week of Year 5! One last week to keep pushing with your home learning until you get a lovely, long summer holiday... and I have to say, we have some fantastically fun tasks this week for you so make sure you check them out. I'm in class this week so Top 10s may be posted a little later than unusual, but I'll let you know when they're up. Have a great day!

Friday 10th July

Good morning, 5EV! It's Friday! One more day of fantastic home learning until we can all enjoy our weekend! Today I'd like to show you Edward's Water Harvester that he made for DT. I'm so impressed by the effort he went to, check out his idea and his amazing explanation video!

Thursday 9th July

Hi everyone! Sorry for the very late message today, I've had a very busy day of teaching different classes! I hope you all enjoyed your transition task yesterday and are excited to go into Year 6. You have been such a fantastic class this year and I know you will all do so well next year - you should be really proud of yourselves! However, we are not there yet! You've still got the Year 5 home learning tasks to do, I will still be updating this page and I still want to see what you've been getting up to!

Tuesday 7th July

Good morning, 5EV! How are you all doing today? I'm in class today so it's just a very quick update to remind you to keep sending me in work so I can celebrate it on here!

Monday 6th July

Good morning, everyone! I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend and are raring to go with your home learning today! Why not send me in some pictures of the work you're most proud of today? We've had some fantastic Art from Ellie-Mae, an amazing roux from Lexi (DT) and a great Science experiment from Arthur. Check them out in the subject folders to the right.

It's also Top 10s today so have a look to see if you've made the list! Remember, it's still 50 HP for number one, 30 HP for number 2, 20 HP for number 3 and 10 HP for everyone else on there!

Friday 3rd July

Hello, 5EV! It's Friday! Just one more day of fantastic home learning until you get a nice rest on the weekend! Today Dominic gets a special shout out as he is consistently sending me examples of his home learning... check out his amazing narrative based on 'Matilda' in the 'English - Writing' section! How have all of your narratives based on 'Matilda' gone? I'd love to read them! Is your nasty teacher as brutish and tyrannical as Miss Trunchbull? Are the children as triumphant as Bruce Bogtrotter and his chocolate cake in the end? Let me know!

Thursday 2nd July

Hi everyone! How are you all doing today? Yesterday in class, my bubble went outside to do the art task on the home learning and I was SO impressed by how much they thought about how to take a good photograph. Check out this amazing example from Hayden!

I also want to celebrate some of our superstar readers!

Lexi has become a reading millionaire! She gets 100 HP!

And here are the children who have met their reading targets so far this half term - they get 100 HP too!

* Elizabeth, Dominic, Lexi and Toby *

And Kuba is so close, with 98%!

Let's keep reading and smash our targets before the end of the year!

Wednesday 1st July

Hi, 5EV! Today I'm in class teaching so apologies for the late message. I've got something a bit different for you today... everyone who is in my bubble today will be setting you a challenge! You can pick which challenge you want to do, email me with evidence that you've completed it and  you will get 100 HP and a special mention on here! Take your pick:

Hayden's challenge: make a unique (and edible) recipe and the best one wins!

Annabel's challenge: build a blanket fort!

Zane's challenge: get 70 or more points in TTRockstars in a minute!

Finley's challenge: stare at a bag of sweets for ten minutes without eating any!

Willow's challenge: watch a film and write a report on it!

Archie's challenge: read a book in a week and quiz on it!

Jacob's challenge: play a game and write a story about it!

Tuesday 30th June

Hello everyone! How are you all doing on this rainy Tuesday? Personally, I'm not looking forward to break time duty in this weather but I am looking forward to reading your emails and seeing your pictures... so don't forget to send me an example of work you're proud of today!

Today I'd like to show you this video of Alex training his dog, Betty. Wow! What a clever (and cute) dog!

Maybe you can send me a picture or video of you and your pet too!

Monday 29th June

Good morning, 5EV! It's not quite as sunny this week but that might actually be a good thing (for me, at least, the sun makes me tired and it's harder to concentrate!). Tops 10s from last Mon-Sun are up and I'm happy to say that we did much better than our last Top 10s, but let's keep pushing so that next week, we get a full Top 10 for everything!

Today I'm uploading some great examples of home learning for you to have a look at, so thank you to everyone who sent me something in! Check out the subjects folders to the right to have a look: we've got some fantastic Art from Heidi, a great character description from Edward under the Reading section, some wonderful RE research from Lexi about Christmas in other countries and some excellent formal reports from Arthur and Tiffany under the Writing section!

I'd also like to share this thoughtful painting from Heidi for the NHS - amazing creativity, Heidi!

And a picture of Dominic doing his IXL in the sun. What a great way to enjoy the weather and do some home learning at the same time!

Keep up the great work, 5EV!

Friday 26th June

Hello, 5EV! I hope everyone is getting on well with their home learning today. Top 10s have are now up (from Mon-Sun of last week), though we only have a Top 10 for Maths... I know we're nearing the end of the year, it's hot and sunny and I'm sure everyone is struggling to keep up their motivation, but I also know how fantastic each and every one of your are, how hard you try and I know you will be able to push yourself for just a bit longer to keep up your home learning! Next week, let's get our Top 10s back up to Top 10s! You can do it, 5EV, and all your hard work now will pay off next year in Year 6, I promise!

Thursday 25th june

Good morning, 5EV! It's another quick message from me today as I'm in class again. Everyone is currently reading for pleasure, how have you started your day today? We took a vote and out of all our lessons, the class are most looking forward to DT! Maybe you can take a picture of your favourite lesson and send it in to me today?

Wednesday 24th June

Good afternoon, 5EV! Wow! What amazingly sunny weather we're having! I'm in class again today and we're all scorching. Today I'd like to show you the board game that Lexi made - I'm so impressed with her take on Monopoly! Check it out below.

Also, check out Lexi's report on Billy Piper under the 'English - Writing' section and remember to send me in some work that you're proud of too!

Tuesday 23rd June

Hello 5EV, how are you today? I'm in class again today so it's quick message just to see how you all are! Remember, even when I'm in class, you can still email me with any questions or pieces of work that you're proud of and I'll upload them here. Top 10s will be coming later in the week, most likely Thursday! Have a great rest of the day!

Monday 22nd June

Good morning, 5EV! Did you have a nice weekend? It's time to get stuck back into your home learning... let's keep up the momentum, it's only 4 weeks until we get a lovely, long summer holiday! Normally I would be doing Top 10s today, but I'm covering in class so I may not have time. Don't worry though, I will upload them later on in the week (they will still be from Mon-Sun, so nothing will have changed). Half the bubble I'm teaching in today is actually 5EV! We have Tiffany, Kleona and Edward! We're currently reading for pleasure and then will kick off the day with some Maths. What subject do you like to start the day with?

Friday 19th June

Hello everyone! It's Friday! One more day of home learning until you can have a lovely rest - let's hope the weather brightens up on the weekend. Remember to send me in the examples of work you're most proud of - Dominic finished his Viking narrative yesterday and it's a great read, check it out in the 'English - Writing' folder to the right!

Today I'd like to share a quiz that Arthur made to recap some of the knowledge from his home learning for the last two weeks. What a great way to revise! You can take his quiz too, you just need to follow this link:

Arthur's Quiz

Type in this pin if it asks you to: 08968232

And set yourself a nickname so we know who you are.

Have fun and let me know how you get on!

Thursday 18th June

Hi 5EV, how are you all today? I'm aware that some of you have started to run out of books so I want to remind you that you can access loads of online books for free. Here is a link that shows you many different places you can go to access e-books:

https://www.chesswood.w-sussex.sch.uk/attachments/download.asp?file=4055&type=pdf

I'd also like to give everyone a big well done, because look at how many IXL skills we've achieved excellence in now!

Wednesday 17th June

Good afternoon, 5EV! Apologies for the late class message today, I'm in class teaching and haven't had much time (shout out to Hayden - he's the only one from 5EV in my bubble today!). How have you all been getting on with your home learning? We voted and today our favourite lesson so far was Writing!

Today I'd like to give a shout out to Nathan, who has baked this delicious-looking cake! Here is his cake and the recipe, so you can have a go at baking it yourself!

Tuesday 16th June

Good morning, 5EV! How are you all doing on this lovely sunny day? I haven't heard from some of you in a little while, so let's make today the day that you send me in something you're proud of from your home learning! You can also email me with any hobbies you've been doing, pictures of pets or a message you'd like to share with the class - I'll share it here with everyone tomorrow!

Today I'd like to give a special shout out to Dominic and Toby, who have now met their reading targets for this half term! Amazing, they get 100 HP! Remember to keep quizzing from home - we were getting the most words out of all the classes before we broke up, we can't slow down now!

I'd also like to give an extra shout out to Dominic, who has been consistently sending me the work he's most proud of each day. He's done so much amazing writing since lockdown, check it out in the Writing folder to the right. >>>

Monday 15th June

Hello, 5EV! I hope you've all had a relaxing weekend and are ready to get stuck back in to your home learning! It's Top 10s today, so have a look in the Top 10s section to see if you've made it! I've been very impressed with our Maths this week and I'd like to give a special shout out to Ruby, who did a whopping 8 hrs and 34 mins of IXL English! Wow!

I'd also like to give a massive shout out to Edward, who sent me so much fantastic home learning on Friday! He made a very impressive football table for DT, did a great 'Visit London' poster for Geography, did some fantastic RE and wrote some very clear instructions on how to give good customer service for Writing! Check them out in the subject folders to the right. >>>

Edward has also sent us these wonderful videos on how to give good customer service, which was related to the instructions he wrote for Writing. Check them out below!

Friday 12th June

Good morning, 5EV! I wanted to show you some nice pictures of what everyone has been doing today...but unfortunately, I didn't receive any yesterday! I've heard from the phone calls that you're all doing really well so send me something you're proud of if you can!

I know this week you've been writing instructions and today is the last day, so I wanted to show you this funny video of a dad who set his children a challenge to write instructions on how to make a sandwich. It just goes to show how specific instructions need to be! Check it out below.

Thursday 11th June

Hi everybody! How is your home learning going this week? I know you've been doing this for a while now and might be getting a little bored, but it's important that you keep up your motivation. If you know that there is a subject you haven't been doing as much of, perhaps now is the time to start focusing on that so that you can get a bit more variety!

Today I want to give a shout out to Lexi, who has met her reading target already! She gets 100 HP! I also want to show you this amazing drawing she did of Toothless from 'How to Train Your Dragon'.

Remember to send me in what you're proud of and perhaps you'll be the feature of our class message tomorrow!

Wednesday 10th june

Good morning, 5EV! How are you all today? I wonder if you've been doing any of the Sussex Games challenges? Perhaps you could send me a video of you doing some of the challenges and remember, you need to enter your scores by Friday morning!

I'm back in class again today (we've only got 5 in - all boys!) but I'm still enjoying looking at the work you're sending me in when I've got a free moment. We've had some great Guided Reading from Dominic and some fantastic Maths from Lexi - check them out in the subject folders!

Tuesday 9th June

Good afternoon, everyone! Sorry for the late message - I'm teaching all day in class today (shout out to Edie, she's the only one from 5EV here!) so I've not had a spare moment until now! How has your home learning been going? We've done our Duolingo and TTRockstars (or at least tried to - you know how the school iPads can get!), our starter boards, White Rose Maths, ran 1K (phew!) in PE, planned and wrote the introduction for our instructions in Writing and now the class is reading for pleasure. We've also been washing our hands A LOT! The Year 5 class says PE has been their favourite thing so far today, what has yours been?

Monday 8th June

Hi everyone! I hope you've had a lovely weekend and are getting back into your weekly home learning routine!

Today I'd like to let you all know that our Top 10s are changing to every Monday now, so I'll collect all your IXL, Reading and TTRockstars data from the previous week (Mon - Sun) on a Monday. This is because I am now in class teaching all day every Wednesday (when we usually have them) and I won't have time to get them together. This also means I won't be able to respond to your lovely emails as quickly on a Wednesday, and our class message will come a bit later, but don't worry, because I will still reply when I can!

Friday 5th June

Hi, 5EV! It's Friday, so lets have one last push of home learning before the weekend! I'm miss you all lots so it's been wonderful seeing the pictures and videos you've been emailing me. We've got some fantastic book reviews from Edward and Dominic and some great fractions practice from Saba, so check them out by clicking the subject links!

Saba has also sent us a lovely class message and has read us her COVID-19 news report - have a look below!

And Grace has been baking... take a look at these delicious white chocolate and raspberry cakes!

We've got some great Art from Elizabeth and Kuba, some fantastic Maths from Elizabeth, some amazing RE from Kuba, awesome Science from Arthur and Lexi and some wonderful Writing from Dominic and Elizabeth. Check it out in the subject folders to the right. >>>>

I also want to update you with what a few of you have been up to on here. Firstly, Tilly has started her own lip gloss business and made a phenomenal business plan, which details her plans for the next few years. I am SO impressed by her attention to detail and her entrepreneurial spirit! Check out some snippets of her plan below:

Secondly, Elizabeth has been developing her animation skills on the computer. I am blown away by her creativity and her cartoon drawings look so professional! Check it out below:

Lastly, Lexi was so inspired by reading 'The Illustrated Mum' that she dressed up like the main character and has told us all about why she dresses this way. It's amazing to see her so engaged with reading! Have a look below:

Also, we need to give a MASSIVE shout out to Elizabeth, who just became a reading millionaire! She gets 100 HP, what a phenomenal achievement!

We've now got three millionaires (Coey, Nathan and Elizabeth), could you be next?

I'm feeling a little lonely today... because I'm not getting many pictures of your fantastic home learning at the moment! I really want to see what you've been up to and I want to showcase your amazing work on here! You get 50 HP for any pictures sent and 100 HP for any videos!

Yesterday, Grace sent me this video of her amazing handspring in a trampoline, check it out below!

Tuesday 2nd June

Good morning, everyone! Wow, look at this weather we're having, it would be amazing to soak up the sun and relax with a good book. Maybe you can do some reading in the garden as part of your home learning today?

Remember that today is your last day to get on the Top 10s for this week. Lots of you have really been working hard and it shows - last month we achieved excellence on a whopping 3,500 year 5 skills! Amazing!

Monday 1st June

Hello, 5EV! It's the first day back after a well-earned half-term break! I hope you've all had a lovely holiday and are now refreshed and ready to get back into the swing of your home learning! Remember that keeping a daily routine is really important and if you stick to this, you'll find it much easier to get your work done. Keep sending me in pictures and videos of the home learning you're most proud of each day, I love seeing it!

It's our Duolingo Top 10s today, so check them out in the section to the right! It's 50 HP for number 1, 30 for number 2, 30 for number 3 and 10 for everyone else! >>>

Friday 22nd May

Hi, everyone! It's the Friday before half term so let's make it the best day for home learning yet! I know you're all getting on well with your work, but I've stopped receiving many pictures! So let's make today the day that you send me in your favourite piece of work from the week. You'll get 50 HP for a picture and 100 HP for a video!

Today it's Top 10s and I'm happy to say that our Reading Top 10 has improved to a Top 8, but let's keep reading and make sure we get a full 10 for our next Top 10 after half term! Your IXL looked great this week though, and we've even been sent this certificate to say we've answered a whopping 95,000 questions in English as a class over the year! Wow!

We've also had three more pupils hit their reading target - a massive well done and 100 HP for...

~ * ~ Edward, Saba and Tilly ~ * ~

Don't forget that it's Top 10s today as well, have a look if you're on them! It was only a Top 7 for Reading this week, so please let me know if you're struggling to get on AR at home. Also remember that you can have a look at all your amazing work in the subject links to the right. >>>

Tuesday 5th May

I am going to give an ENORMOUS shout out to Arthur for keeping me updated though! Look at this video of his amazing description based on one of the picture prompts for Writing this week! Monday 4th May

Hello 5EV! I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and are ready to get back into your home learning today! Today I've been back in class teaching and we've really been enjoying the home learning tasks. How did you get on with the White Rose area model of multiplication? I know it was a bit different to the way you've been shown before, but hopefully you persevered and found it useful - I know we did! I'd love to see some examples!

Today the Duolingo Top 10s have been uploaded in the Top 10s section to the right, and don't forget that our other Top 10s come out on Wednesday. We only had a Top 8 for reading last week - let's make sure we smash our reading this week!

Friday 1st May

Hello everyone, and happy Friday! Let's have one last push of fantastic home learning before a well-deserved break this weekend!

Today I'd like to show you a video Lexi made telling us her recipe for a rose water and raspberry sponge cake. Check it out below, it sounds absolutely delicious!

I'd also like to set you a challenge from Arthur! Arthur has made his favourite French word, using objects from around his house. Can you guess what the French word means in English? Email me if you think you know, and if you're right, you'll get 50 HP!

Thursday 30th April

Hello 5EV! What have you been up to this week? Today I want to share a fantastic painting that Heidi has completed. I'm loving all the Disney characters and the use of bold colours - amazing!

I also want to share this amazing hair scrunchie that Betty has made. Perfect for getting your hair out of your face for a home work out!

Have you been getting creative at home as well? Send me some pictures and you could be the feature of our class message tomorrow!

I'm also still uploading your amazing work by subject, just click the links to the right to have a look! Yesterday we got some wonderful colour wheels in from Edie and Tilly, some fantastic Maths from Heidi, and Dominic has been on a roll with his Writing tasks! Keep up the great work, 5EV!

Wednesday 29th April

Good morning! How are you all today? It's Top 10s today, so make sure you check the Top 10s section! >>>

We've done amazingly on IXL, but there's only a Top 8 for reading. If you're starting to run out of reading books, check this link, which tells you loads of different places you can get free books online:

https://www.chesswood.w-sussex.sch.uk/attachments/download.asp?file=4055&type=pdf

Yesterday, I received some great pictures of what Betty has been up and I'd love to see what you've been up to as well! You still get 20 HP for each picture you send, and 50 HP for a video!

Here is a video message that Betty and her brother Zephyr made, challenging everyone to send in their pictures of their pets! Just pop me an email with the pictures, and I'll upload you and your pets tomorrow! Sadly, I don't have any pets, but maybe I can see if the neighbour's cat is around this evening for a quick photo shoot!

Betty has also painted this amazing picture of a panda and baked some delicious berry tarts! It's great to see you getting creative in so many ways!

Tuesday 28th April

Hello 5EV! What a rainy Tuesday! Not so great for home learning in the garden, but wonderful for all the plants!

Today I want to show you how thoughtful 5EV is. Arthur has run a 5K to support our NHS Heroes, to raise money for the NHS! Wow, what an achievement!

We've also had support for our NHS shown by Tilly, Arthur, Lexi and Betty, who have drawn some beautiful rainbow-themed pictures. It's great to see everyone showing their thanks to those working the hardest to fight COVID-19! We may be apart, but we're all thinking of each other, and that's fantastic!

Duolingo Top 10s have also been uploaded today, check our Top 10s section to see if you're there! Remember, you need to log in to be shown the leader board.

Monday 27th April

Hi 5EV! How are you all doing? It's been great to speak to most of you on the phone, and I'll try to catch those of you who I haven't been able to get through to tomorrow. Today I've been in class teaching - only 3 in year 5 today (shout out to Frankie, Alfie and Austin)! Today I want to share a picture of Grace's delicious-looking cookies! Have you been doing any cooking or baking at home as well?

Remember that I'm uploading examples of your fantastic home learning by subject to the right. >>>

And Top 10s are on Wednesday, so let's see if you can win all of those house points!

Friday 24th April

Hello everyone and happy Friday! Today I want to show you this amazing video Edie made, showing us how to make dog biscuits - what a lucky dog!

And thank you to Ruby for showing me all the Easter fun she has been getting up to! Her room was decorated, she made some delicious Easter egg cakes and went for a lovely bike ride in the sun! I'd love to see what you're doing too!

Hi everyone and happy Thursday! Today I'd like to set you all a challenge: to send me a picture of a new hobby or skill that you've been developing since lockdown. It doesn't have to be anything to do with your home learning tasks, I just want to see what you're up to!

But please also keep sending me your great work. I want to give a special mention to Tilly, whose acrostic poem about the Coronavirus blew me away. Check it out under 'English - Writing'! >>>

Wednesday 22nd April

Hello 5EV! I hope you've all had a good morning and are producing some great work. I'm missing you all a lot and I can't wait to see more of the work you've been producing. It would also be great to see any interesting pictures or videos of you at home so I can put them here on our website, I know everyone else would love to see them too! Just to let you know, I'll be trying to give you all a call this week so if you've got a missed all from an unknown number, it might be me!

Friday 3rd April

Hi 5EV! How are you all doing today? I'm sorry that I didn't update our class page yesterday, I'm currently ill and at home getting some rest (but please don't worry, I'm fine!). Please keep emailing me with updates of your home learning - even if I don't respond as quickly as usual, I will still respond as quickly as I can and I love seeing what you're up to and hearing about your day!

You're about to embark on your Easter holidays and I hope you all have a fantastic one! I want to say how thoroughly impressed I am with your resilience in these, quite frankly, weird times! This means that even though your normal daily routine has been changed dramatically, and we're all a bit unsure of how long it will last, you have been getting on with what you need do with a big smile on your face! How amazing you've all been! Keep up the great work after you've enjoyed a nice rest. If you'd like to email me over Easter, please do, and I will get back to you after the holidays.

Wednesday 1st April

Hello everyone, happy Wednesday and happy April Fools' Day! I hope you're all having lots of fun with your home learning, I'm enjoying looking at all the work you're sending in!

Today is also Top 10s! Have a look if you made it by clicking on the Top 10s section to the right. >>>>

You still get 50 HP for getting number 1, 30 for number 2, 20 for number 3 and 10 for all of the other positions.

Unfortunately, we only had a Top 9 for IXL English and Reading this week, so please make sure you are doing the daily tasks given to you at home!

We've also had a fantastic class message from Alex, look at how professional this looks! Amazing stuff, Alex gets 50 HP! Check it out below:

We've had a great picture of Dominic concentrating on his Duolingo as well:

Tuesday 31st march

Hi everyone! How are you? I hope you're keeping up with your home learning, thank you to everyone who has been emailing me with updates! I still haven't heard from some of you though, and I miss you, so please get in contact and let me know how you're getting on at home!

Today, Ruby sent me a picture of her in full concentration mode, and look at that amazingly organised timetable on the wall! Fantastic stuff!

Top 10s are tomorrow, and I can see some of you have been doing phenomenally with your IXL, reading and TTRockstars! However, we only have a Reading Top 7 at the moment - normally you smash your reading targets, so let's keep this up at home!

Reminder: your work is now being displayed by subject and you can look at the examples by clicking the links to the right. >>>>>

Tuesday 24th march

Hello 5EV! Today has been a particularly strange day for me as I'm no longer teaching in class! Most of you are busy learning at home, so there aren't many children in year 5 at school. I'm missing you all very much and am really keen to see all the work you have been producing! I haven't had many so far, so please send some more examples in. Scroll down below for details of how to do this (just email me!) and to see the amazing examples I've had in already!

Remember, there's loads of house points to be won! You can keep track of these in your home learning journal and they will all count!
Also, it's Top 10s tomorrow!

Monday 23rd march

Hi everyone, and welcome to 5EV's class page! I will be posting on here every weekday to keep you updated with some of the work we are doing here at school, and more importantly, I'd like you to update me with the work you are doing at home so I can celebrate it on here! You can email me a picture or video of what you've been doing to:

evarley@chesswood.w-sussex.sch.uk

There will be lots of house points available for sending in your work!

Remember: you can also email me with any questions you have about the work, and I should be able to respond every afternoon from 1.30 - 2.30 pm.

I'm looking for some top quality work, which I know you are all so good at producing! Don't forget to underline your date and your title, if you've given yourself one, and keep that handwriting looking excellent.

Since you are now responsible for your own learning, it would be a good idea to create a timetable of what you are doing each day so you stick to a good routine. This will make home learning feel more 'normal' to you! You can send me a picture of your timetable and I can post here as an example. Your first port of call is to complete your daily learning activities, but if you can't complete any of them, you could also complete a take away task. Just remember to keep me updated!
