The school is committed to the highest possible standards of openness, probity and accountability. So we expect employees, and others we deal with, who have serious concerns about the school’s work to come forward and voice them. The policy applies to all employees (regardless of contract type), volunteers, interns, secondees and those contractors working on school premises, for example, agency staff, builders and drivers. It also covers suppliers and those providing services under a contract with the school in their own premises.
The Confidential Reporting Policy is intended to cover major concerns that may fall outside staff grievance procedures. These include:
West Sussex Council Complaints
Staff complaint route when internal systems have been exhausted. This route for complaint is NOT appropriate for parent use. Parents seeking to use this will be redirected to the school complaints process.
In a maintained community school West Sussex County Council policies apply in relation to concerns and complaints. The West Sussex complaints procedures are available in the following circumstances:
The school procedures at stage 1 and 2 have not resolved the complaint for a parent or member of the community.
A staff member or associate has a major concern that may not be covered by the confidential reporting policy but nevertheless must be communicated and reviewed.
