Increase in Pupil Numbers at Out of School Hours Clubs – For the two terms leading up to this report pupil places in clubs has seen an increase. During the Autumn term the school saw an increase of 29% pupil places taken and in the Spring term 25% increase.

Pupil Premium Children – During the first 2 terms of 2016-17 28% of PP children have accessed an active club for at least one term. 22% of PP children have represented the school in competitions and festivals against other schools up to Easter 2017.

Pupil Leaders – Year 6 pupils undertake a unit of work based on Sports Education where different roles within sport are explained and practiced. This enabled early identification of talented leaders who were picked to become Worthing School Sports Association Legacy Leaders (4 pupils) and to date 40 Y6s assisting in Y3 PE lessons using skills such as STEP to make the most of their sessions.

Lunchtime Activities – To encourage pupils being active during their luchtimes our Sports Coach has developed a timetable of activities to offer 30 minutes of structured play each lunchtime – this has initially been available to the Upper school during September to April. A group of Pupil Premium children are taking advantage of this opportunity. One child has said this has increased their confidence in Sport as well as playing with children he wouldn’t normally play with.

Inter-School Competitions – During the autumn term 380 pupil places were taken to enter competitions against other local schools or inter-House competitions. The Spring term 182 pupil places were taken by pupils.
