Spelling Practice Years 5 and 6
Learning spellings should be FUN. Below is a sheet containing a range of spelling activities for all abilities to support children in learning their spellings. Please use these to support the weekly spelling homework.
In school, one of the ways children practice their spelling is using the Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check method -
Look at the word you are learning
Say it out loud
Cover the word up and try to picture it in your mind
Write the word in the next box
Check your spelling
Below, you will find Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check sheets for all the spellings covered in the National Curriculum (scroll down for pdfs). These can be printed out and used at home. They are in the school's cursive font to support the strong link between handwriting and spelling.
