Writing Curriculum Content and Sequence

The writing curriculum content and sequence is planned across the school to allow a coherent learning journey for all pupils.

Pupils develop their competence and confidence across the text types through repeated practice. The planning principles identify how the key documents should be used to organise the learning so it meets the principles outlined in the Writing policy. The genre overview, overview by year group and progression document map out the key genre, units, texts and skills. These are then developed into the medium term plans, lesson by lesson.

The MTP are used to create flip charts and resources to deliver the teaching with scaffolding to ensure access for all.
